What is Stugeron 15mg Tablets?

Stugeron is a pharmacy medicine for motion sickness. Each tablet contains 15mg of cinnarizine, an antihistamine used to control the nausea, vomiting and dizziness that travelling can bring on, whether by car, coach, boat or plane.

How does it help?

Motion sickness starts in the balance organs of the inner ear. When the movement they sense disagrees with what your eyes are seeing, the mismatch is what makes you feel sick. Cinnarizine settles the signals passing from the inner ear to the brain, which is why it is taken about two hours before you set off rather than once the sickness has already begun.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Cinnarizine can make you drowsy, especially in the first few doses, so do not drive or use tools until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol while taking it. Tell us if you have Parkinson's disease, liver or kidney problems, or a rare inherited intolerance of fructose, galactose or lactose, as the tablets contain lactose and sucrose. It can also interfere with skin allergy testing for up to four days. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
