What is Fusion Allergy Eye Drops 15 x 0.5ml Single-Dose Ampoules?
Fusion Allergy Eye Drops are isotonic eye drops in single-use ampoules, registered in the UK as a medical device rather than a medicine. They are used to ease the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, the itchy, red and watery eyes that come with hay fever and other airborne allergies. They contain no preservative and the maker states they are suitable for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes.
How does it help?
The key ingredient, Ectoin, is a natural cell-protective molecule that helps stabilise the outer layer of the cells lining the eye. It helps protect the surface of the eye against allergens and supports the recovery of irritated, sensitive conjunctiva, the thin membrane covering the white of the eye. It works physically rather than as a drug, and contains no antihistamine or other medicine.
Key benefits
- Preservative-free single-use ampoules, so each dose is fresh
- Suitable for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes
- Can be used several times a day, and more often if needed
- Suitable for children, with an adult helping those aged 10 and under
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. Put 1 to 2 drops in each eye several times a day. Do not use if you are sensitive to Ectoin or any of the other ingredients, and stop straight away if the drops cause an allergic reaction. Each ampoule is for one use only: throw away any liquid left over and do not use a damaged ampoule. Using these drops alongside other eye drops or eye ointments is not recommended, as interactions have not been studied. Only use them after eye surgery or an eye injury if your doctor advises it. The small ampoules could be swallowed by young children and are a choking risk, so keep them out of reach. Occasionally they can cause short-lived eye irritation or redness. If your eye becomes painful, your sight changes, or symptoms persist or get worse, speak to our pharmacist or your doctor.
