What is Earol Olive Oil Ear Spray 10ml?

Earol is a small pressurised spray that delivers a fine mist of olive oil into the ear canal. It is used to soften hardened ear wax, either to relieve blocked or muffled hearing, or to prepare the ear before wax removal at the pharmacy or surgery.

How does it help?

Olive oil does not dissolve wax — it soaks into it. The metered spray coats the wax with a thin, even layer of oil, and over a few days that oil softens the hardened wax so it breaks up and works its way out of the ear naturally, or comes away far more easily during irrigation or microsuction.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. Do not use it if you have a perforated eardrum or grommets, if there is any discharge, bleeding or pain from the ear, or if you have had recent ear surgery — see your GP first. Avoid it if you are allergic to olive oil. It is for use in the ear only. Stop and get advice if the ear becomes painful, itchy or sore. If your hearing has not improved after using it for around five days, come and speak to us.
