CeraVe Blemish Control Gel is a lightweight leave-on facial gel with salicylic acid, glycolic and lactic acids, niacinamide and ceramides for oily and blemish-prone skin.
What is CeraVe Blemish Control Gel 40ml?
CeraVe Blemish Control Gel is a cosmetic leave-on gel moisturiser for skin that is oily or prone to spots and blackheads. It is applied after cleansing, either all over the face or just on the areas that need it. It is a skincare product, not an acne medicine, and is designed for a regular routine rather than as a treatment for a single spot.
How does it help?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that dissolves in oil, so it can work into the pores and loosen the dead skin cells and sebum that block them. Glycolic and lactic acids gently exfoliate the surface of the skin to smooth its texture. Niacinamide helps calm the look of redness, while hyaluronic acid and three ceramides help keep the skin hydrated and support its natural barrier, so it does not feel dry or tight. Start by using it every couple of days, then build up to once or twice a day as your skin gets used to it.
Key benefits
- Helps unclog pores and reduce the look of blemishes and blackheads with regular use
- Lightweight gel texture that absorbs quickly without feeling greasy
- Ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide help keep skin hydrated and comfortable
- Non-comedogenic, so it is designed not to block pores
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. For external use on the face only; avoid the eyes and rinse with water if it gets in them. It contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so use a sunscreen, cover up and limit time in the sun while using it and for a week afterwards. Start slowly, every couple of days, and stop if you get persistent stinging, redness or peeling. If your spots are painful, widespread or leaving marks, speak to our pharmacist or your GP, as there are licensed treatments that may help.
