What is Blephaclean Eyelid Hygiene Wipes 20?

Blephaclean wipes are soft, sterile pads soaked in a preservative-free micellar cleansing solution, each sealed in its own sachet. They are used to clean the edge of the eyelids and the base of the lashes as part of daily lid hygiene, the routine that opticians and eye clinics recommend for blepharitis, dry eye and blocked oil (meibomian) glands. They are ready to use, with no water and no rinsing needed.

How does it help?

The micellar solution lifts away the oily debris, crusts and flakes that collect along the lid margin and around the lash roots, which is where the bacteria and blocked glands behind blepharitis build up. Wiping gently along the closed eyelid from the inner to the outer corner removes this build-up, helping the tiny oil glands in the lid to work properly and the tear film to spread more evenly. The solution also contains soothing, moisturising ingredients, so it is gentle enough to use twice a day.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For external use on the closed eyelids only; do not put the wipe into the eye. Use a new wipe for each eye and throw it away after one use. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or if a sachet is open or damaged. If your eye becomes painful, very red or sensitive to light, if your vision changes, or if your symptoms do not settle after a few weeks of regular lid hygiene, speak to our pharmacist, an optician or your GP, as some eyelid problems need a prescribed treatment.
