What is Golden Eye 0.1% Eye Drops 10ml?

Golden Eye Drops contain propamidine isetionate, a mild antiseptic used in the eye. They are for minor infections of the eye and eyelid, such as conjunctivitis (a sore, red, sticky eye) and blepharitis (inflamed, crusted eyelid rims).

How does it help?

Propamidine isetionate is an aromatic diamidine antiseptic. Dropped into the eye it acts on the surface of the eye and eyelid, stopping the bacteria causing the irritation from growing and multiplying so the body can clear the infection itself.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not use them if you are sensitive to propamidine or to any of the other ingredients. They are not suitable for use while wearing hard or soft contact lenses, and the preservative can be absorbed by soft lenses and discolour them. Speak to your GP or optician if there is no improvement within two days, if your vision becomes disturbed, or if the symptoms get worse. Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established, so tell us if that applies to you. Use with care if you have dry eyes, and throw the bottle away 28 days after opening.
