What is Adex Gel 500g?

Adex Gel is a highly moisturising and protective emollient for dry, itchy skin conditions such as mild to moderate atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, other forms of eczema and psoriasis. It also contains nicotinamide as an added anti-inflammatory ingredient. It is registered as a medical device rather than a licensed medicine, and it contains no steroid.

How does it help?

An emollient works by holding water in the outer layer of the skin and forming a protective film over it, which reduces the dryness and tightness that drive itching and scratching. The nicotinamide is included to help calm the redness and inflammation in the skin it is applied to.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For external use only — keep it away from the eyes. Stop using it if the skin becomes more irritated, and speak to us or your GP if the skin looks infected, is weeping or crusting, or if the redness is spreading. As with emollients generally, fabric that has been in contact with the gel — clothing, bedding, dressings — burns more easily, so keep away from cigarettes and naked flames.
