What is Stud 100 Desensitising Spray for Men?

Stud 100 is a desensitising spray for men that helps delay ejaculation by gently reducing sensitivity. It is applied to the penis before sex and is for adults only. Supplied in a 12 g bottle.

How does it help?

It contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that temporarily and mildly numbs the skin it is applied to, reducing sensitivity so that ejaculation may take longer.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Follow the leaflet on how long before sex to apply and how many sprays to use, and consider a condom, as the product can transfer to a partner. Don't use if you or your partner is allergic to lidocaine or any of the ingredients. Speak to our pharmacist if you're taking other medicines or have any ongoing health conditions.

Common questions

Do I need a prescription for Stud 100?

No — it’s a licensed general sale medicine, so the 12 g bottle is available without a prescription. Our pharmacist still looks over every order before it leaves us, and can talk through whether a desensitising spray is the right first step. How long does one bottle last?

The 12 g bottle gives roughly 120 metered sprays, so it covers a good number of occasions rather than being a one-off. How many sprays to use, and how long before sex, is set out in the pack leaflet — our pharmacist can check that it’s right for you rather than you guessing.

Will it affect my partner?

It can transfer. The leaflet tells you how long to leave it before sex and asks you to wash it off afterwards; if it does transfer, a partner may notice temporary numbness. Stud 100 isn’t recommended for men whose partner is pregnant or trying to conceive, and neither of you should use it if you’re allergic to lidocaine or other local anaesthetics.

When should I speak to someone about premature ejaculation?

If it keeps happening. The NHS links persistent premature ejaculation to thyroid and prostate problems, anxiety, and relationship stress — all of which can be treated. A spray manages the symptom; it doesn’t look at the cause. Speak to our pharmacist or your GP, especially if it’s new or getting worse.
