What is Odaban Antiperspirant Deodorant Spray 30ml?

Odaban is an antiperspirant pump spray for people who sweat more than they would like. It is a cosmetic toiletry rather than a medicine, and it contains aluminium chloride hexahydrate at 20% w/v. The 30ml bottle is used sparingly, so it lasts a long time.

How does it help?

Aluminium salts react with proteins in the opening of the sweat duct and form a soft temporary plug, so less sweat reaches the skin surface. Because sweat glands are least active overnight, Odaban is put on at bedtime, on completely dry skin, and washed off the next morning. The plugs stay in place for a while after washing, which is why most people find they need it only every few days once things have settled.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. Apply only at bedtime, to skin that is completely dry and unbroken - never during the day. Wash it off the following morning. Do not use it on broken, cut, irritated or sunburnt skin, or straight after shaving or hair removal, and keep it away from the eyes, nose and mouth. Using more than you need can make the skin sore or itchy; if that happens, stop for a few days before trying again more sparingly.
