What is Histahive Fexofenadine 180mg Tablets?
Histahive 180mg Film-coated Tablets are a pharmacy medicine for the relief of the symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria - hives, or nettle rash, that keeps coming back without a known cause - in adults and children aged 12 and over.
How does it help?
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine: it blocks histamine, the chemical behind the itchy, raised, red weals of hives. Take one tablet a day before a meal. The pack says it starts to act within an hour and gives 24-hour relief.

Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for children under 12. Do not take it if you are allergic to fexofenadine or any ingredient (the tablets contain the colour Allura Red, which can cause allergic reactions). If you have heart disease now or in the past, use it only on your doctor's advice; speak to a doctor first too if you are elderly or have kidney or liver problems. Do not use it in pregnancy, and it is not recommended while breastfeeding, unless a doctor advises. If hives come with swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing, call 999.
