Driclor is a pharmacy-only aluminium chloride roll-on for very heavy sweating of the armpits, hands and feet, applied to dry skin at night and washed off in the morning.
What is Driclor Antiperspirant Roll-On 75ml?
Driclor is a pharmacy-only antiperspirant solution in a roll-on applicator. It is for people who sweat far more than normal in the armpits, hands or feet, even when it is not hot or they are not exerting themselves. It is unperfumed and is not a deodorant, so you can carry on using your usual deodorant alongside it.
How does it help?
The aluminium chloride reacts with the protein in sweat and the lining of the sweat duct to form a temporary plug that blocks the flow of sweat to the skin surface. You apply it to completely dry skin last thing at night, when the sweat glands are least active, and wash it off in the morning. To begin with it is used every night; once sweating during the day has settled, many people can cut down to twice a week or less.
Key benefits
- Contains 20% aluminium chloride hexahydrate, the strength licensed for very heavy sweating
- Applied once at night, then washed off in the morning, so it does not need reapplying through the day
- Once sweating is under control, use can often drop to twice a week or less
- Unperfumed, so your normal deodorant can still be used as usual
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Apply only to skin that is completely dry, and only to the armpits, hands or feet. Do not use on skin that is broken or irritated, or that has been shaved or treated with a hair-removal product within the last 12 hours. Avoid the eyes, nostrils, lips and mouth, and rinse well with water if it gets there by accident. Stinging, itching, redness or a burning feeling where it is applied can happen; if this is severe or lasts more than a few days, stop and speak to our pharmacist. Driclor can stain clothes, jewellery and metal, so let it dry before dressing. If you are breastfeeding, keep it off the breast area and wash off any traces before feeding. It is flammable, so keep it away from naked flames.
