Clearblue Rapid Detection Pregnancy Test — a self-test in-vitro diagnostic device for detecting pregnancy at home from a urine sample. Available as a single test or twin pack.

What is Clearblue Rapid Detection Pregnancy Test?

A home pregnancy test that tells you whether you're pregnant from a simple urine sample. It's a self-test kit you can use in private, with clear results.

How does it help?

The test detects the pregnancy hormone hCG, which the body starts producing in early pregnancy. When hCG is present in your urine above the test's threshold, the device shows a positive result.

Key benefits

  • Detect pregnancy at home in private
  • Rapid, easy-to-read result
  • Simple urine sample test
  • Trusted pregnancy-testing brand
  • Available as a single or twin pack

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use and follow the timing steps carefully for an accurate result. For best results test from the day your period is due. If you get an unexpected result or aren't sure, speak to our pharmacist.

Common questions

How early can I take the test?
It’s over 99% accurate from the day you expect your period, and you can test up to five days before your missed period — use the first urine of the day if you’re testing that early, and a negative then doesn’t rule pregnancy out. A pregnant result can appear in a minute; otherwise wait three, and read it within ten.
What’s the difference between this and the digital test with the weeks indicator?
Both detect the same pregnancy hormone, hCG, and both are over 99% accurate from the day your period is due. This one shows a plus or minus symbol. The digital version spells the answer out in words and estimates 1–2, 2–3 or 3+ weeks since conception — which isn’t the same as the pregnancy weeks a midwife counts from your last period.
Can medicines affect the result?
The leaflet says the contraceptive pill, common painkillers, antibiotics and alcohol shouldn’t affect it. Fertility medicines containing hCG can, and a recent pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy may give a misleading reading. If you’re having fertility treatment, or the result doesn’t match what you expected, speak to our pharmacist or your GP.
It says Not Pregnant but my period hasn’t come — what now?
Either you’re not pregnant, or hCG isn’t high enough to show yet — the leaflet suggests testing again a few days later. If it’s still negative and your period is late, see your GP. Call 111 if you might be pregnant and have pain low down on one side, bleeding, or shoulder-tip pain.
