What is Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Treatment?
Bazuka Sub-Zero is a home freezing treatment for warts on the hands and verrucas on the feet. The can holds a liquefied mixture of dimethyl ether and propane, and the kit contains enough for 12 applications along with foam applicators and a leaflet. It is a medical device, not a licensed medicine.
How does it help?
Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus infecting the top layers of skin. Pressing the cap releases the freezing agent into the foam applicator, which is then held against the wart. The cold destroys the infected tissue, which dies back and is shed over the following days so healthy skin can grow through. It is designed to be used at home, following the steps in the leaflet.
Key benefits
- Treats warts on the hands and verrucas on the feet
- 12 applications from one can
- A single application takes seconds
- Soaking and filing the area first, as the leaflet describes, helps the treatment reach the wart
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. Not for children under 4, and an adult should apply it for a child — freezing stings and the sting can take a few hours to settle. Do not use it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have diabetes or poor circulation in your hands or feet. Do not use it on the face, neck, armpits, breasts, bottom or genitals, on moles, birthmarks or spots with hairs growing from them, or on sensitive, cut, itchy or diseased skin. Do not use it alongside another wart or verruca treatment. A blister may form afterwards — keep the area clean and covered, and do not pick or pop it. Speak to us or your GP if you are not sure the lump is a wart or verruca, or if it does not clear. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
