What is Anhydrol Forte Roll-On 60ml?

A clear, alcohol-based roll-on solution containing aluminium chloride hexahydrate at 20%, supplied as a licensed pharmacy medicine rather than as a cosmetic antiperspirant. It is licensed for hyperhidrosis, the medical term for sweating that is much heavier than the body needs, when it affects the underarms, hands or feet. It is applied at night to completely dry skin and washed off in the morning.

How does it help?

Aluminium chloride works inside the sweat ducts, where it forms a temporary plug that stops sweat reaching the skin surface. Applying it at night gives it time to act while the sweat glands are least active. Once the sweating is under control it can be used less often, applied only as needed to keep the sweating in check.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not use it if you have ever reacted to aluminium chloride or any of the other ingredients. Apply it only to the affected areas and only to skin that is completely dry; do not use it on broken, irritated or recently shaved skin, and leave at least 12 hours between shaving or using a hair-removal product and applying it. Keep it well away from the eyes. It can irritate the skin, especially at first; if that happens use it less often, or stop and ask our pharmacist. The solution is highly flammable and can stain or damage clothing, jewellery, metal and polished surfaces, so let it dry before dressing, keep it away from flames and replace the cap tightly.
