What it is
Most sore throats are viral and get better on their own. Where a bacterial throat infection is likely, our pharmacist assesses you using the FeverPAIN score and can supply phenoxymethylpenicillin — or clarithromycin if you're allergic to penicillin.

Our pharmacist scores your symptoms and examines your throat
We supply antibiotics only where the assessment shows they're needed
Questions, answered plainly
Will I get antibiotics?
Only if you need them. Most sore throats are viral and antibiotics won't help — our pharmacist uses a recognised scoring system to decide.
Is the NHS service better?
For most people, yes — it's free. We'll always point you to the free NHS route first where you're eligible.
