What is Vagisil Medicated Creme 30g?
A cream for the external skin around the vagina (the vulva). It contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, and is used for short-term relief of itching and soreness in that area.
How does it help?
Lidocaine quietens the nerve endings in the skin it is applied to, so for a few hours they stop sending the itch and soreness signals. It relieves the symptom; it does not treat whatever is causing it.

Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. It is for external use only - do not put it inside the vagina. Do not use it on broken, blistered or weeping skin, and do not use it if you have ever reacted to lidocaine or another local anaesthetic. Use it for a few days only: if the itching lasts more than 7 days, keeps coming back, or comes with unusual discharge, an odour, blisters, ulcers, pain passing urine or a fever, stop and speak to us. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is supplied.
