What is Sylk Natural Intimate Moisturiser 40g?

Sylk is a clear, water-based gel used to relieve vaginal dryness and to make sex more comfortable. Vaginal dryness is very common and has many causes - the menopause, breastfeeding, some medicines including certain contraceptives and antidepressants, cancer treatment, or simply stress and tiredness. Sylk is a medical device rather than a licensed medicine, and it contains no hormones and no oil.

How does it help?

The gel adds moisture and, because it is water-based and holds water well, it stays where it is put rather than drying off straight away. That gives delicate tissue a smooth, cushioned surface, so friction and the soreness that comes with it are reduced. It does not change your hormone levels and it does not treat the underlying cause of the dryness - it makes the day-to-day symptom easier to live with.
