What is Durex Extended Pleasure Condoms?

Durex Extended Pleasure are lubricated latex condoms designed to help delay climax, so intimacy can last longer. They also provide protection against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections when used correctly.

How does it help?

The condoms have a climax-delay lubricant (benzocaine) on the inside that has a mild numbing effect to help delay ejaculation, while the latex barrier helps prevent the exchange of fluids.

Key benefits

  • Climax-delay lubricant to help last longer
  • Helps protect against pregnancy and STIs
  • Regular fit
  • CE-marked for quality and safety
  • 12-pack

Who should take care?

Read the instructions before use and use a new condom each time. Not suitable if you or your partner are sensitive to latex or to benzocaine (the numbing lubricant); stop use if any irritation occurs. Only use a suitable water-based lubricant with latex condoms. Speak to our team if you have any questions.

Common questions

What makes them ‘extended pleasure’?
A climax-delay lubricant containing benzocaine sits on the inside of the condom, giving a mild numbing effect that can help delay ejaculation. On the outside they behave like any lubricated natural rubber latex condom — regular fit, teat-ended, twelve to a pack — so you get the delay effect and the usual protection from the same product.
Do delay condoms still protect against pregnancy and STIs?
Yes. Used correctly every time, condoms are around 98% effective at preventing pregnancy, and they’re the only contraception that also lowers the risk of sexually transmitted infections. Use a new one each time, and stick to water-based or silicone-based lubricant — oil-based products such as petroleum jelly weaken latex.
Will my partner feel numb too?
The delay lubricant is on the inside of the condom, so it’s aimed at you rather than your partner. Some people are sensitive to benzocaine or to latex either way — if either of you notices itching, stinging or a rash, stop using them and ask our pharmacist about a latex-free or non-delay option from our condoms range.
Are delay condoms enough on their own for premature ejaculation?
For plenty of people they help, and the NHS lists condoms — particularly ones with a local anaesthetic — among the first things to try. If it keeps happening, it’s worth being looked at, since thyroid and prostate problems, anxiety and relationship stress can all play a part. See our premature ejaculation page or speak to our pharmacist.
