What is Canesbalance Bacterial Vaginosis Vaginal Pessaries?

Canesbalance Bacterial Vaginosis Vaginal Pessaries are a medical device, not a medicine, for the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis (BV): a thin grey or white discharge and a fishy odour. A pessary is a small, solid dose that is placed high in the vagina where it dissolves. The pack holds 7 pessaries, one for each night of the 7-day course, and is an alternative to the Canesbalance gel for people who find a pessary simpler to use.

How does it help?

BV happens when the balance of bacteria in the vagina is disturbed and the pH rises above its normal acidic level. Each pessary releases lactic acid as it dissolves, bringing the pH back towards normal. That relieves the odour and creates the conditions the beneficial lactobacilli need to recover. One pessary is used each night for 7 days.
