Vaccinations
Adult and adolescent vaccines, administered by a trained pharmacist under PGD. Some are free on the NHS depending on age and risk — we'll always tell you first if you qualify so you don't pay for something the NHS would have given you free.
Flu (seasonal)
Best between September and December for winter protection.
Standard quadrivalent flu vaccine, or high-dose (Fluad / Efluelda) for 65+. NHS-funded for 65+, pregnant, frontline carers, certain medical conditions. We can do it sooner privately if you can't wait.
Shingrix (Shingles)
Adults 50+ recommended. NHS-funded routinely for 65 and 70-79 (catch-up).
Recombinant zoster vaccine, ~97% effective at preventing shingles. Two-dose course, 2-6 months apart.
Pneumonia (Prevenar 20 / PPV23)
Adults 65+ or with certain medical conditions. NHS-funded for those groups.
Pneumococcal vaccines protecting against bacterial pneumonia, septicaemia and meningitis. One-off dose for most.
MMR (catch-up)
Adults who missed MMR as children — common 1980s/90s gap.
Measles outbreaks have been rising in the UK. If you're not sure whether you had two doses of MMR as a child, your GP can check the records — and if you're not up to date, we can give you the catch-up doses (private or via your GP).
HPV (Gardasil 9)
Adults who missed school programme (up to ~age 45). Both sexes.
Protects against 9 HPV strains causing most cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers, plus genital warts. 2-3 dose course depending on age.
Meningitis ACWY
For travel, Hajj/Umrah (Saudi Arabia mandatory), university students.
Single dose protection against four serogroups. Hajj/Umrah pilgrims must show proof of vaccination — we issue the certificate same day.
Meningitis B (Bexsero)
For university students and parents wanting protection their child didn't get on the NHS.
Meningitis B routinely given to infants on NHS, but older children/adults can opt for private dose for protection during student years.
Chickenpox (Varilrix)
Non-immune adults, especially parents and healthcare workers.
Chickenpox is much more serious in adults than children. Two-dose course gives ~90% protection.
